- 20-year-old volunteer Oleksii Kazimir was killed in action on March 4, 2022, on the Zhytomyr highway between the villages of Myla and Dmytrivka in Kyiv Oblast. Oleksii was killed in enemy tank fire while traveling with his comrades to a combat mission. All were killed. Oleksii was born in Kyiv in a family of military servicemen. He graduated from the Kyiv Military Lyceum named after Ivan Bohun in 2018. He then entered the Transport Academy of Ukraine. He was also a 2nd-year student at the Department of Military Training of the National Defense University of Ukraine named after Ivan Chernyakhovsky. He stu in the 23rd platoon, specializing in "Organization of moral and psychological support." On the first day of the full-scale war, February 24, 2022, Oleksii and his friend went to Bucha, where they volunteered to join the company-tactical group "Irpin" of the 243rd battalion of the 114th Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They provided assistance to local residents, evacuated people from dangerous areas, and stood guard at the checkpoint. Ten days later, their checkpoint was shelled. After the liberation of Kyiv Oblast, the bodies of the deceased were discovered by medical personnel and transferred to the morgue. Only after 53 days, on April 26, 2022, the young man was buried in the village of Zakharivka in Khmelnytskyi Oblast. Oleksii left behind his grandfather. Oleksii Kazimir was posthumously awarded the "For Merits to the Armed Forces of Ukraine" badge and the Order of Courage III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
