Oleksii M. Havrysh

Senior Sergeant Oleksii Havrysh was killed on January 13, 2023 in the village of Khatsky, Cherkasy region. At that time, his military unit was stationed there. Together with his comrades-in-arms, Oleksii was preparing to go abroad for training. The fighter was 34 years old. He was born in the village of Hrabiv in the Chernihiv region. In 1994, he went to Budianskа school. He completed 9 grades. He studied for two years at the Ichnianskyi Vocational and Technical School as a crane operator, and then served in the military in Donetsk. Later, he signed a contract. He worked for several years at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Kyiv. In his free time, he would come home to help his parents with household chores. He loved to rest with his family and friends. He played football. During the full-scale invasion, on April 4, 2022, he voluntarily took up the defense of Ukraine. He held the position of machine gunner of the 3rd section of the 3rd platoon of the 3rd rifle company of the 2nd mechanized battalion of the 118th separate mechanized brigade. "He was very kind. No one will say a bad word about him. He could help everyone. I didn't want to let him go to war, but he told me he would go defend his Ukraine," said his mother Zinaida Mykolaivna. Oleksii was buried in the village of Luchkivka in the Chernihiv region. The defender left behind a mother, father and two sisters.
