Oleksii M. Korobkov (Korob)

Junior Lieutenant Oleksiy Korobkov (call sign Korob) was killed on December 5, 2023 while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region. As a result of an air strike, the officer sustained fatal injuries. He was 30 years old. Oleksiy was born and lived in Kyiv. After school, he studied at the Kyiv Aviation Professional College. Since 2018, he has worked at PE "CORAL TV PLUS", holding the position of telecommunications engineer. In 2021, he obtained a bachelor's degree from the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" in the specialty "Aviation and Rocket-Space Engineering". With the start of the full-scale war, on March 10, 2022, Oleksiy was drafted into military service in the National Guard of Ukraine. He joined the ranks of the 1st Presidential Brigade of Special Purpose named after Hetman Petro Doroshenko. He was the commander of a mortar platoon of a mortar battery. He began his combat path with the liberation of Moshchun and Irpin in the Kyiv region, after which he bravely defended the state in the eastern direction - in Lysychansk, Avdiivka, Bakhmut, and the Svatove district. "Oleksiy was a positive person who could always be relied upon in any situation. Responsible and decisive, and also very charismatic, people were always drawn to him," his wife said. The officer was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Forest Cemetery in the capital. Oleksiy is survived by his parents Rymma and Mykhailo, sister Dariia, wife Nataliia, and son Roman.
