Oleksii M. Lion

Serviceman Oleksiy Lіon was killed on January 5, 2023 in battle with the occupiers in the Donetsk region. The fighter was 49 years old. Oleksiy was born in Rubizhne, Luhansk region. He stuwas killed at the local school. Then he graduated from the National Technical University "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Igor Sikorsky". After serving in the military in Shepetivka, Khmilnytskyi region, he returned to his hometown. He worked as a 4th grade operator at the Scientific and Production Enterprise "Zorya" LLC. He loved fishing. In his free time, he collected vintage bicycles. With the start of the full-scale invasion, he fought against the Russian occupiers as part of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo. "I worked with him for a long time in production. A very responsible and sensitive person. That's how he remains in our hearts," wrote Volodymyr Smahlіuk. "Oleksiy... I can't believe it. This child has always been on the side of truth and good, did not hide and did not run away and now. Eternal and bright memory," wrote the fellow countryman of the deceased Olena Maslennikova. "Bright memory to you, Oleksiy. I personally knew this man, he was a very good, kind person, always friendly and cheerful. Rest in peace. Sincere condolences to the family," wrote acquaintance Marina Kosyak. Oleksiy was buried at the Lychakiv cemetery in Lviv. The defender left behind a wife, daughter, stepdaughter, sister and brother.
