Biography
Oleksiy Mykolaiovych Semeniuk was born on March 9, 1985, in Cherkasy. He graduated from the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations, History, and Philosophy at Bohdan Khmelnytskyi Cherkasy National University with a degree in History. He worked at the "Self-Defense of Maidan" headquarters in Cherkasy region. Since 2014, he volunteered to go to Eastern Ukraine, fighting as part of the "Aidar" battalion in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions — he participated in the liberation of Sloviansk, the defense of Vuhlehirs’k, and other hot spots. From 2015, he took part in battles in Avdiivka, Pisky, and Henichesk. In 2019, he participated in training exercises with British military personnel in Lviv to exchange experiences. During the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he was an operator of the Stuhna-P anti-tank missile system in the anti-tank artillery division of a separate motorized infantry brigade. On March 5, 2022, in the morning, his unit managed to destroy an enemy column of equipment. During subsequent movement near Sievierodonetsk in Luhansk region, the servicemen came under enemy machine-gun fire. Around 8:00 AM, Oleksiy Semeniuk sustained injuries that were incompatible with life. He was buried in Cherkasy. He is survived by his wife, daughter, and son.Burial place
