Oleksii O. Blyzniuk

Soldier Oleksiy Blyzniuk was killed in action on August 4, 2022, in a battle with Russian occupiers for the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. In June, the defender turned 43 years old. Oleksiy was born in the village of Gvozdykivka, Chernihiv region. In 1997, he graduated from the Shchorske Secondary Professional and Technical School and obtained the profession of a carpenter. In civilian life, he worked as a track maintenance worker at the VP "Kyiv Railway District" of the PJSC "Ukrzaliznytsia". He moonlighted as a taxi driver. He loved fishing and relaxing in nature. During the full-scale war, the man became a military serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a shooter in the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky. "Oleksiy was a real man, brave and courageous, always ready to help, defended the truth and justice, was honest and open, decent, respectful, principled. He was a loving husband and father, a caring son and a reliable friend. He did not have military education, but he was always a real warrior inside, a fighter and a patriot!", the wife of the deceased warrior told. The defender was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the Snovsk cemetery in the Chernihiv region. Oleksiy left behind his parents, wife Natalia, and daughter Anastasia.
