Oleksii O. Kucheruk (Lesyk)

Senior Soldier Oleksii Kucheruk (call sign Lesik) was killed in action on April 28, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the city of Izium in the Kharkiv region. The fighter was 34 years old. Oleksii was born in the village of Havryshivka, Vinnytsia region. He obtained the profession of a teacher of fine arts and crafts at the Bar Humanitarian-Pedagogical College. He then graduated from the Glukhiv National Pedagogical University, receiving the specialty of a practical psychologist. During the full-scale war, the man held the position of a driver in the pontoon section of the 70th Center for Engineering Support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0853). "Our angel. Kind, brave, caring, the best husband and father. He will always stand up for the defense of our family," says the wife of the deceased. "The community is in terrible grief. Unbearable pain that tears the heart into small pieces. Horror that permeates every cell of the body. A feeling of despair. Tears and hatred. The ground is shattered and torn underfoot," the Bar community notes. The military serviceman was buried in his native village. Oleksii is survived by his wife Lyudmyla, son Yaroslav, daughter Valeria, parents, sister, and nephews. Senior Soldier Oleksii Kucheruk was posthumously awarded the Order "For Courage" III degree.
