Oleksii O. Nychyk (Avada)

42-year-old soldier Oleksiy Nychyk (call sign Avada) was killed on July 31, 2023, while performing his official duties in the area of the settlement of Kyrykovka in the Sumy region. He had previously sustained an injury. After the hospital, he returned to the area where the reconnaissance platoon was stationed, got out of the car and collapsed unconscious. The warrior's heart stopped. Oleksiy was born in Zaporizhzhia. He lived for some time in the city of Druzhkivka in the Donetsk region. In 2014, he moved to Kharkiv, and from the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he lived in Ternopil. He had a secondary education. In civilian life, he worked as a construction worker. He was interested in photo and video editing. When the full-scale war began, the man joined the ranks of volunteers and began defending his country. He served in the 105th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a reconnaissance spotter in the reconnaissance platoon. He fought for a long time in the Soledar direction of the Donetsk region. "My brother is a Hero. A courageous, brave, and valiant warrior. For me, he was a support, a support, a relative and the best. He was the one who would always come to help, give the last," said the deceased's sister Yulia Zalivanska. The defender was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Mykulynets cemetery in Ternopil. Oleksiy is survived by a sister and a nephew. He was posthumously awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the City of Ternopil".
