Killed in action on June 13 (approximately) 2014 near the town of Yampil in the Krasnolymansky district of Donetsk region at the hands of militants while he went to help his acquaintances. On the morning of June 11, 2014, Oleksiy left Kharkiv in his car to pick up his friend's family from the town of Siversk in the Artemivsk district of Donetsk region. He last made contact on June 12 while in Yampil. According to local residents, he was detained by militants at a fortified checkpoint here. Oleksiy's fate remained unknown until September 2016, when his body was discovered by searchers in a forest area near Yampil; his car's license plates were found under the body. The remains were sent to the city of Dnipro for identification. Forensic experts stated that the deceased had been brutally tortured for several days before being killed. DNA tests confirmed that the body belonged to Oleksiy Kyslyuk, but his mother refused to acknowledge this, hoping that her son was in captivity. The body was buried at the Krasnopil cemetery in Dnipro as a temporarily unidentified defender of Ukraine. The mother only came to terms with her son's death over time. Oleksiy was reburied on May 30, 2018, in Kharkiv.- 18th city cemetery of the Kharkiv town
