Oleksii S. Bezdolnyi (Ariiets)

Oleksii Serhiiovych Bezdilnyi was born on October 1, 1994 in the city of Borzna, Chernihiv region. In 2018, he graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. On February 24, 2022, at the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, Oleksii swore allegiance to the people of Ukraine and joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He defended Ukraine as part of a special operations battalion in the Kharkiv, Kherson, and Donetsk regions. At a time when the overwhelming forces of the Russians were advancing, he did not abandon his comrades-in-arms at the front line, but went on the assault of a certain area, despite his position as a staff officer. He was killed on January 5, 2023, while saving the life of a machine gunner during combat operations in the Bakhmut direction.
