- Junior Sergeant Oleksiy Voloshko (call sign Kavkazets) was killed on January 21, 2024 in a battle for the city of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. During the assault, he sustained fatal injuries as a result of enemy artillery shelling. The warrior was 30 years old. Oleksiy was born in the Stavropol region (Russia). Later, he moved with his family to Ukraine, to the Kirovohrad region. He graduated from Kropyvnytskyi Vocational School No. 8 and obtained the profession of a gas welder. He got married and lived with his family in the village of Sozoniвka. In November 2016, he signed a contract with the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 3rd Special Purpose Regiment named after Prince Sviatoslav the Brave. He held the positions of scout, operator, and senior operator. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation / Joint Forces Operation. During the full-scale invasion, together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended Kyiv, Kherson, Kharkiv, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions. During his service, the soldier was awarded the medals "For Exemplary Service in the Military" of the III degree, "For the Defense of Ukraine", "For Courage and Bravery", and the orders "For Courage" of the III and II degrees (the second one posthumously). "My husband, the father of my children, the brave son of his mother, fulfilled his duty as a citizen of Ukraine and until the last moment of his life, defending our land from the invaders, was faithful to his comrades-in-arms and the state. While in the combat zones, he was brave and courageous, never complained. Oleksiy gave his life for us so that we could be free, having so many plans and unfulfilled dreams," wrote Marina Voloshko. Oleksiy was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the Far Eastern Cemetery in Kropyvnytskyi. The defender left behind a mother, wife, two daughters, other relatives, friends, and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
