Oleksii V. Blazhko

Senior Sergeant Oleksiy Blazhko was killed in action on April 9, 2022, in the battle near the city of Popasna in Luhansk region. The defender remained forever 29 years old. Oleksiy was born in the village of Spirne, Donetsk region. He graduated from Higher Professional School No. 91. He lived in the city of Lysychansk, Luhansk region. He devoted his life to military service. With the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2014, he stood up to defend his native country. He fought in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. At the time of the full-scale war, Oleksiy continued to be faithful to his military oath and performed his duties. He was an instructor in the combat army system at the Luhansk regional department of military service law and order in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "He devoted his life to defending the Motherland since 2014, served in various military units. From March 26, 2014, to April 9, 2022, he dutifully participated in the defense, repulsion, and containment of Russian armed aggression in Donetsk and Luhansk regions," said the mother of the deceased. The defender is survived by his mother, sister, wife, daughter, and son. Posthumously, Senior Sergeant Oleksiy Blazhko was awarded the Order of "Courage" III degree.
