Oleksii V. Rokoman (Feliks)

32-year-old Senior Sergeant Oleksii Rokoman (call sign Felix) was killed on August 23, 2023 near the village of Terniv in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Oleksii was born in the village of Halaykivtsi, Vinnytsia region. He graduated from the Kyiv Professional Lyceum of Automotive Transport, obtaining the qualification of an electric gas welder-body repairer. In peacetime, he worked in construction. He was passionate about fishing. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend his country from the enemy. He served in the ranks of the 44th Separate Rifle Battalion. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions. In January 2023, while directly carrying out a combat mission, he developed pneumonia and frostbite of the extremities, which led to his hospitalization. Due to complications, the fighter had to undergo surgery to remove the bones of the maxillary sinus. After treatment, Oleksii returned to the front line. In March, during one of the battles in the Donetsk region, he was wounded in the left shin. After treatment, he returned to the combat positions again. But this time it was the last time. "He was the best, loving son, brother, friend and comrade-in-arms for the family," said the deceased's sister, Diana Kreminnik. The defender was buried in his native village. His mother and sisters were waiting for him at home.
