Oleksii V. Varava

38-year-old military Oleksii Varava was killed on November 12, 2022 near the village of Klishchiyivka in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, the soldier came under enemy artillery fire and received fatal injuries. Oleksii was born and lived in the city of Kirovohrad (now Kropyvnytskyi). In 2005, he graduated from the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs and obtained a law degree. In peacetime, he worked at LLC "Kernel Trade". He was passionate about diving and engaged in it professionally for a certain period of time. During the full-scale war, the man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend his native country from the occupiers. He served in the 53rd separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh. He was the commander of the unmanned aerial vehicle reconnaissance platoon. "I am the wife of the fallen hero Oleksii Varava, who still cannot learn to live without the closest person. My beloved was a strong wall and support for our family, protection and support, an example and hope for our children. Every day lived with my husband is a cup full of love and happiness. Perhaps a lifetime is not enough to fully enjoy it, but all this was simply taken away in one moment," said Yulia Varava. Oleksii was buried in the Alley of Honorary Burials of the Far Eastern Cemetery in his hometown. The defender left behind a wife, daughter and son.
