- Born on March 24, 1977, in the village of Yasne, Melitopol district, Zaporizhia region. After some time, the family moved to Cherkasy region. In 1994, he graduated from the general education school in the village of Kamianyi Brid, Lysianka district, Cherkasy region. On July 16, 1994, he was drafted into military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the Haharinsky District Military Commissariat of Sevastopol. On August 27, 1994, he took the Military Oath of allegiance to the people of Ukraine. In June 1999, he graduated from the Sevastopol Naval Institute. From June 1999 to April 2002, he served as the commander of a mine-sweeping group - diving specialist of the underwater mine-sweeping detachment, from April 2002 to December 2003 - deputy commander of the underwater mine-sweeping detachment - diving specialist, from December 2003 to June 2004 - deputy commander of the special operations detachment - diving specialist, from June 2004 to October 2005 - commander of the special operations detachment - diving specialist of the 73rd Naval Special Operations Center of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1594, city of Ochakiv, Mykolaiv region). From October 2005 to February 2007 - officer of the group of listeners of foreign military educational institutions (Command and Staff Academy of the Bundeswehr of the Federal Republic of Germany) of the 2nd Center for Peacekeeping Personnel and Officers of International Staff Elements (centers). From February 2007 to November 2010 - deputy head of the 73rd Naval Special Operations Center for diving training - senior diving specialist, from November 2010 to October 2012 - deputy head of the 73rd Naval Special Operations Center for diving training, from October 2012 - head of the 73rd Naval Special Operations Center of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1594, city of Ochakiv, Mykolaiv region). Since the spring of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On August 16, 2014, during a combat mission in the area of the urban-type settlement of Starobesheve, Donetsk region, a reconnaissance group of special forces under the command of Captain 2nd rank Zinchenko came under fire from Russian-terrorist groups using BM-21 "Grad" multiple rocket launchers. As a result of the shelling, sailor Kornafel was killed, and Captain 2nd rank Zinchenko sustained serious injuries, from which he died on August 17, 2014. On August 19, 2014, by order of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine No. 473, Captain 2nd rank Zinchenko Oleksiy Volodymyrovych was posthumously awarded the military rank of Captain 1st rank. On August 20, 2014, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Kamianyi Brid, Lysianka district, Cherkasy region. On May 9, 2015, in the village of Kamianyi Brid, Lysianka district, a memorial plaque was unveiled on the facade of the general education school (Shkilna Street, 1), where Oleksiy Zinchenko studied. On February 17, 2016, by the order of the mayor of the city of Ochakiv No. 21, Chyzhykova Street was renamed to Oleksiy Zinchenko Street.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
