Olena I. Bezkrovna

Combat medic Olena Bezkrovna was killed on September 10, 2022, during a counteroffensive near the village of Bugaivka in the Kharkiv region. The soldier sustained a fatal shrapnel wound during an enemy shelling. She was 44 years old at the time of her death. Olena was born in the Russian city of Kyakhta. She lived in the city of Berdychiv in the Zhytomyr region from childhood. She stu at the local school No. 4. She then enrolled in Berdychiv Medical College. Initially, she worked as a nurse at a Red Cross center, then in the surgical department of the city hospital, and later in the physiotherapy office of the Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation. In 2019, she signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. She served in the 26th Artillery Brigade named after General Horunzhy Roman Dashkevych. She held the position of combat medic. With the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion, Olena served honorably and responsibly as part of her unit. "Mom made life bright. She was an incredibly positive, kind, and generous person. When she worked as a nurse, she easily connected with children. Everyone who knew her loved her. While in the combat zone, she always made time for a video call, no matter how poor the connection was. She always treated her guys to coffee and snacks. She even treated the smallest scratches of her comrades. She could send little surprises even from there. Mom was, is, and will always be a person with a capital letter. She was not afraid of death. She is THE BEST. I miss her incredibly," wrote her daughter Daria. Junior Sergeant Olena Bezkrovna was buried in Berdychiv. She is survived by her daughter, friends, and comrades.
