- 28-year-old combat medic Olena Sozoniuk was killed on September 3, 2022 in the Kharkiv region. Olena was born in the village of Obenyzhі in Volyn. She graduated from the Lviv State University of Life Safety with a degree in "Ecology, Environmental Protection and Balanced Nature Management". Then she worked as a sushi chef in Lviv. In 2015, the woman joined the ranks of the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Roman the Great. At first, she was a cook, loved to experiment in the military kitchen to make it tasty for her comrades-in-arms. Later, Olena took courses in tactical medicine and became a combat medic. "A sincere patriot, brave and courageous, she went with her comrades-in-arms to the hottest battle spots," the Turiisk community noted. "Today the sky is crying. You promised that we would meet in the Volchak tract after the victory... You were one of the first to go to the Maidan. Then - to the army... Although I dissuaded you all these years... Your Oksanka will be proud of you. Thank you for being in my life for these 9 years! You are an example of self-sacrificing service to Ukraine! Rest in peace, sister!" wrote her comrade Serhii Prykhodko. "My dear Lenka. Eternal memory and the Kingdom of Heaven to you. You will always be in our memory and hearts. You have always been genuine. A true patriot, a true friend, a true mother and a true person. Your daughter will be proud of such a mother, your parents - of a daughter, and Olya - of a sister. I cannot convey this sorrow and pain... Sincere condolences to the family, and to you - the Kingdom of Heaven and eternal peace. Rest in peace, my dear Lenka," wrote the deceased's friend Oksana Hurska. The servicewoman was buried in her native village in Volyn. Olena is survived by her parents, sister and 3-year-old daughter Oksana.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
