Olha O. Semydianova (Samara)

Olha Oleksandrivna Samarska-Semidyanova was born on July 10, 1973, in Zaporizhzhia. She got married at the age of 19. The family had five children. In 2008, the family moved to a large house near the city of Marhanets in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where their youngest daughter was born. After that, they decided to raise foster children. Therefore, in addition to their six children (four daughters and two sons), they also took in six foster boys. All of them were quite difficult children. They were all 11 years old, each with psychological trauma from the past. Thus, the Semidyanov family received the status of a family-type children's home. With the start of the war in Eastern Ukraine, Olha traveled to the front lines to rescue the wounded. In 2015, Olha's husband volunteered for the DUK "Right Sector" battalion. The following year, Olha joined her husband and went to the front with her daughter Yuliia Volkova in the "Aidar" battalion. "She was at the front and saved the wounded as a combat medic in the 3rd assault company. Only after two years did specialists arrive in the battalion, and Mom received the necessary medical knowledge to officially hold this position," her daughter recalled. On March 3, 2022, during a battle on the border of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions, Olha Semidyanova sustained a severe gunshot wound and died from blood loss. For a long time after her death, the family was unable to bury her due to fierce fighting in the area.
