Orest M. Klymovych

Senior soldier Orest Klymovych was killed on April 30, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission near the city of Orikhiv in the Zaporizhia region. The warrior was 31 years old. Orest was born and lived in the city of Lviv. He studied at school No. 67, and then at the Lviv Technical School of Railway Transport. Since 2013, he worked at the "Nova Poshta" company. Later, he was drafted into the National Guard. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation, received the status of a participant in combat operations. After that, he returned to work at the post office. He was interested in the history of his country, nature, and numismatics. He loved fishing, picking mushrooms, and hiking in the mountains. With the start of the full-scale war, the man returned to the ranks of the NGU and went to the front. He served in the 45th Operational Designation Regiment named after Oleksandr Krasitskyi. He was a grenadier. He went through many hot spots. "We met during this war, it was the last day of his rotation in Lviv. We were from the same district, I worked in a store, we started talking. And it turned out that we both have a great interest in coin collecting. That's where it all started. We communicated by phone, later Orest came on vacation, we went on a trip to the Carpathians together. That's where we brought our child... He was very good, very kind. I wish everyone to meet such people! With such a passion for life, with such energy... He always laughed, he approached problems with positivity. He dreamed that when he returned home, he would raise his son. He dreamed of our future. But he gave his life for the Motherland as a hero!" - said the wife of the deceased Maryana Klymovych. On May 10, 2024, Maryana was waiting for Orest on vacation for family reasons: they planned a partnership birth. The couple carefully prepared for the birth of their son. During vacations and rotations, the husband managed to renovate the apartment and arrange the nursery. They bought everything they needed in advance. The defender was buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv. He left behind a mother, sister, wife, and newborn son.
