Pavlo H. Spiridonov (79-th)

Sergeant Pavlo Spiridonov (call sign 79th) of the Azov Regiment was killed on April 4, 2022 during the defense of Mariupol. The 35-year-old defender sustained a fatal gunshot wound after providing medical assistance to a comrade. Pavlo was born in the village of Urozhayne, Zaporizhia region. He graduated from school and went to work. He worked from home, engaging in greenhouses. He loved cars very much and built a huge garage. He planned to engage in car repair. He also loved to work the land and planted an orchard. When the Russian-Ukrainian war began in 2014, Pavlo joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He participated in the ATO in the Donetsk direction. Since 2017, he served in the separate special forces unit of the National Guard of Ukraine "Azov". He was an instructor. In 2022, he planned to enter the university to obtain a higher education, and later - a rank in service. However, a full-scale war began. "This is the best person in my life. My children and I will always remember and cherish the memory of our Hero in our hearts. We love him very much," said his wife Vira. Pavlo's body was cremated in Kyiv. The defender is survived by his parents, wife, and two children: 6 and 8 years old. Sergeant Pavlo Spiridonov was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
