Pavlo I. Savchuk (Pashtet)

Defender Pavlo Savchuk (call sign Pashtet) was killed on February 6, 2023, in a battle with the occupiers near the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. At the end of February, the warrior would have turned 32 years old. Pavlo was born in the village of Mala Strukha, Khmilnytskyi region. He studied at the Malostrukhivska and Struzhka schools. He then graduated from the State Tax University in Irpin. He lived in Kyiv. In civilian life, he worked as the head of a distribution company branch. During the full-scale Russian invasion, at the beginning of March 2022, the man joined the ranks of the defenders of Ukraine. He became a rifleman of the 205th separate battalion of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After training, he went to the front line to fight the occupiers. "Pavlo was cheerful and fair, strong in spirit, a leader with a big kind heart. He was a true friend and the soul of the company," his deceased colleagues said. "Pashka, you are our Pashka... Neither the mind nor the heart can accept this sad news... Eternal bright memory to You, our brave Warrior! We are now powerless to stop your flight... Forgive us... Sincere condolences to the mother and the whole family, friends..." wrote his acquaintance Valentyna. The defender's body was cremated. Pavlo is survived by his mother and sister.
