Pavlo was born in the village of Novopidhorodne, Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from the Krasnoarmiisk Vocational Lyceum, and obtained the profession of an underground electrical fitter. During his service, he was repeatedly awarded by the command, in particular with the honorary badge of the General Staff "For Excellence in Military Service" of the III degree. During the full-scale war, Pavlo was a fighter of the 57th separate motorized infantry brigade named after the Koshovy Otaman Kostya Hordiyenko. He held the position of squad commander, vehicle commander of the reconnaissance platoon. "The first in everything and always! A faithful son of Ukraine," said the fallen warrior's sister. "Pasha, as his comrades-in-arms called him, despite his youth, was a real fighter, warrior, patriot. He already had combat experience in the ATO / OOS zone, wounds, concussions. But despite everything, he believed that he had to defend his native land... Sergeant Pavlo Melnyk was killed as a hero, saving his comrades-in-arms at the cost of his life. He couldn't do otherwise... It is difficult to convey in words the grief of his relatives... Impossible... Mother, sister, nieces were always the most important thing for Pavlo," added the Mezhivska community. The serviceman was buried in his native village.
