- Soldier Pavlo Demkov (call sign Tykhy) was killed on May 6, 2023, in battle with the occupiers near the village of Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region. During the enemy artillery shelling, he received fatal injuries. He would have turned 48 in June. Pavlo was from the city of Vinnytsia. He was raised in an orphanage from the age of 6. Later, he graduated from Vinnytsia Vocational School No. 7 and obtained a construction profession. He served in the military. In 1998, he got married. Throughout his peaceful life, he worked in his profession, until the Great War - at the "Luvin" enterprise. In 2014-2017, the man participated in the ATO. In 2016, he was awarded the President of Ukraine's decoration "For Participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation". With the start of the full-scale invasion, on February 26, 2022, Pavlo returned to the front, joining the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He defended Ukraine in the ranks of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakov Handziuk. 5 days before his death, on May 1, 2023, the soldier was awarded the medal "For Bravery in Battle". "Dad was a loving, caring father and husband. He had the respect of his comrades-in-arms for his courage, wisdom, and willingness to share his military experience. People say about such people: 'He is reliable, you can always count on him,'" said Anastasia Demkova. The hero was buried in the Alley of Glory of the city cemetery in Vinnytsia.
