Pavlo O. Illiuk (KOLODIaZ)

Soldier Pavlo Illiuk (call sign KOLODІAZ) was killed on December 20, 2022, in the Polohy district of the Zaporizhzhia region. During the performance of a combat mission, he received a fatal shrapnel wound. The warrior was forever 28 years old. Pavlo was born in the village of Kornyn, Rivne region. He stuwas killed there at school. Then he obtained the profession of a cook-confectioner at the Kvasyliv Vocational Lyceum. He served his military service in the special forces "Tiger" in Crimea. After service, he worked at a furniture factory, was a security guard, and later went to work abroad. In his free time, he loved to do woodwork and take photographs. In April 2022, the man joined the ranks of the defenders. Pavlo served in the 65th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a machine gunner in the reconnaissance company. "Pavlo was sunny, cheerful, courageous, and brave. He breathed in every moment to the fullest, dreamed, and made plans for the future. He loved unique wooden products, was a creative person, because he grew up in a family where art and Ukrainian creativity were valued. He took love for various creative directions from each of his parents. Unfortunately, the terrible war is taking the lives of Ukrainian heroes who stood up to defend their native land. Pavlo defended Ukraine from the enemy until his last breath," wrote his mother Svitlana. The defender was buried in his native village. Pavlo is survived by his parents and sister.
