Biography
Pavlo Olegovych Sbitov was born on October 22, 1994, in the village of Berezets in the Lviv district of the Lviv region. In 2009, he graduated from the Berezets General Secondary Education Institution. In 2012, he graduated from the Lviv State Lyceum with Enhanced Military-Physical Training named after the Heroes of Kruty, and later from the Faculty of Combat Application of Troops at the National Academy of Land Forces named after Petro Sahaidachny. After completing his studies, he was assigned to the 503rd Separate Marine Corps Battalion, with which he went to the front lines. In 2017, Pavlo was appointed commander of a company. In 2019, together with his battalion, he participated in the multinational military exercises "Agile Spirit 2019" in Georgia, where he was awarded as one of the best servicemen. The company commanded by Pavlo Sbitov won the competition for the best similar unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2019. In 2021, he became the commander of the 503rd Separate Marine Corps Battalion. During the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he successfully carried out combat missions, preventing the encirclement and destruction of the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade's units. On March 12, 2022, during a battle near the village of Yevhenivka in the Volnovakha district of Donetsk region, Pavlo Sbitov sustained fatal injuries. The officer remained with his unit until the end and led the repulsion of the attack. On March 17, 2022, the hero was buried in his native village of Berezets in the Lviv region.Burial place
