- Senior Lieutenant Pavlo Karaush (call sign Greek) was killed on August 12, 2023, during the assault on the settlement of Urozhaine in the Donetsk region. The warrior remained forever 30 years old. Pavlo was born in the village of Hvozdavka Druga, Odesa region. He lived in Odesa. In 2013, he graduated from the Odesa National Academy of Food Technologies technical school of industrial automation. Three years later, he obtained a higher education at the Odesa National Academy of Food Technologies. He was fond of sports and practiced boxing for a certain period. He spent some time at sea, making several voyages. Later, he decided to find a job at home to see his child grow up. Prior to the invasion, he worked as an electrician. On February 25, 2022, the man joined the ranks of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 35th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrohradskyy. He held the position of platoon commander in the sniper company. He proved himself to be a responsible, courageous, and loyal warrior. He was dedicated and principled, always putting justice and truth first. He often said that as a commander, he had to be an example for his comrades-in-arms. During his service, he participated in the liberation of the occupied Ukrainian territories in the Donetsk and Kherson directions. "Pasha was a loving husband, the most tender father, the best son, a faithful and reliable friend, simply an incredibly kind person... He really wanted to live and see our son grow up, whom he cherished. Despite my pleas to return home and live like everyone else, he remained faithful to his oath until the end," said the officer's wife, Aliona. The marine was buried in the village of Novoyelizavetivka, Odesa region. At home, Pavlo was awaited by his wife and son, who was 3 years old at the time of his father's death.
