- National Guard soldier Pavlo Plyachenko (call sign Grandpa) was killed on January 8, 2023, in battle with Russian invaders near the city of Soledar in the Donetsk region. In February, the defender would have turned 46 years old. Pavlo was born and lived in the settlement of Prosyana, Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from the local school. From childhood, he was friendly and sociable, always took an active life position. In 1995, he went to serve in the National Guard of Ukraine. In 2003, he married his beloved Larysa. He raised the daughter of his wife from previous relationships as his own. Six years later, the couple had a common daughter Valeriya. He worked in bridge construction, was a specialist in his field. On the first day of the full-scale war, on February 24, 2022, the man took up the defense of his native settlement. Later, he joined the National Guard of Ukraine. He served as a machine gunner in the 12th separate battalion. He took part in the battles for Kharkiv, went through heavy battles for the Donetsk region. "Pavlo was a wonderful father and a good grandfather to his grandchildren. In Prosyana, everyone knows him as a kind, responsible and devoted person. He always came to help. Everyone knows his cafe 'At Pasha's'. His anecdotes were something special, no one could tell them as funny as he did. Everyone knows how he loved everything to be in order, for everything to be in its place. Pashko was hardworking by nature, he could make something special out of nothing, he had golden hands. He never feared difficulties, he never regretted either his strength or his time. He was always distinguished by his patriotic mood. He constantly said: 'Everything is fine, we will break through.' He respected and never abandoned his comrades, no matter what happened," Pavlo's loved ones said. The defender was buried in his native settlement.
