- Soldier Pavlo Movchanіuk (call sign Faust) took his last battle on June 17, 2023 in the area of the village of Zolota Nyva in Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he received fatal injuries. In the fall, the defender would have turned 30 years old. Pavlo was born and lived in Kyiv. In 2010, he entered the Ukrainian State University named after M. Drahomanov, majoring in Sociology. After the 1st year, he transferred to the Faculty of Sociology at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. He was sincerely interested in learning and research. In 2017, he defended his master's thesis on the prospects for the development of phenomenological sociology. He had a remarkable interest in both the theoretical and life problems studied by sociology. From January 2020, he held the position of project manager in the financial research department at Consumer Business Research LLC. He loved hiking in the mountains, books, and music festivals. With the start of the full-scale invasion, Pavlo joined the construction of defensive fortifications in the Solomyansky district of Kyiv. On March 14, 2022, without prior military experience, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 26th separate rifle battalion, holding the position of rifleman - grenade launcher assistant. He took a call sign in honor of his favorite literary hero. The beginning of his combat path was the fulfillment of military tasks in the east of the Kyiv region. Further, the rifle battalion performed tasks to create and equip the defense of Kyiv, including sections of the Ukrainian-Belarusian border. From December 2022, the battalion carried out combat missions in the Shakhtarsk direction of Donetsk region. "My son sacrificed himself for victory, for the freedom not only of ours, but of all Europe and all the people of the free world. For his native Ukrainian land, he stood as a living shield against enemy artillery and tanks. Pavlo honorably and with dignity fulfilled his duty as a citizen of Ukraine. Until his last breath, he remained faithful to his comrades, the Ukrainian people, and the Motherland. Going shoulder to shoulder with his comrades, not afraid to lose the most precious - life, the son bravely defended others from the Moscow invaders. It is impossible to heal the pain of losing a loved one!" - said the mother of the fallen Maria Vyacheslavovna. "Pavlo was very courageous, responsible, and intelligent. He could not reconcile with injustice, so from the first days of the full-scale invasion he stood up to defend Ukraine. Pavlo is the best person I have known in my life. The values he believed in are a moral guide for me," shared his sister Tetiana Doliuk. "Pavlo was killed defending all of us. I did not know a more worthy, strong-willed, collected and disciplined person. A worthy son of Ukraine. He was an extraordinary friend - I never doubted him. This is a heavy loss and grief. I hope that in Valhalla or wherever the best go, Pavlo will find the most picturesque mountain, the best book, the loudest music festival and many other things he did not have time to see in his 29 years. Glory to the Hero!" - added his friend. "Pavlo was a true warrior, a man of his word, an example of indomitability and strength of spirit," noted his comrades-in-arms. The warrior was buried at the Berkovetsky cemetery in Kyiv. Pavlo is survived by his mother, other relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
