Pavlo V. Rozumnyi (Trener)

33-year-old defender Pavlo Rozumnyi (call sign Coach) was killed on August 16, 2022 near the city of Soledar in Donetsk region. During a combat mission, he came under tank fire and received a fatal gunshot wound. Pavlo was born in the village of Zarichne, Zaporizhzhia region. Since 2007, he lived in the settlement of Cherkaska, Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from the Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv National University of the Air Force and dedicated his life to the army. He loved sports, especially football, and regularly participated in military sports competitions, winning many prizes. Pavlo was repeatedly honored by the command with awards: the MOD badge "For Exemplary Service" (2018), the badge "For Excellence in Military Service" III degree (2020), and the award of the Commander of the Joint Forces Operation "Kozatskyi Cross" II degree (2021). With the start of the full-scale war, Coach carried out combat missions on the front line as part of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodnyi Yar". Unfortunately, in the Donetsk region, the defender fought his last battle. "The best defender of Ukraine! The best father! The best comrade-in-arms! He always loved and believed in Ukraine. And now he is our Guardian Angel, who looks down on all of us from heaven, protects and believes in the victory of our warriors," said his wife Natalia Pochtarova. The soldier was buried at the Kushuhum cemetery in Zaporizhzhia. At home, he was awaited by his mother, wife, and 3-year-old daughter.
