Pavlo Yu. Basalaiev (Morpikh)

Sergeant Pavlo Basalaiev (call sign Morpikh) was killed on July 12, 2023, while performing a combat mission near the village of Pryyutne in the Zaporizhia region. Exactly two months before this, the warrior turned 34 years old. Pavlo was born in the village of Maryivka, Zaporizhia region. He obtained the profession of an electric gas welder at the Zaporizhia Vocational and Technical School. He worked at the Zaporizhstal metallurgical plant. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the ranks of the local Territorial Defense Forces. He served in the 110th separate brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He commanded a mechanized platoon. "My brother was a very kind and honest person. He always came to the aid of everyone who needed it. He loved life very much and was very much looking forward to the birth of his little son. He loved children very much, his nephews and nieces, who also loved him very much. When the summons came to him, he did not hide and immediately went to the military enlistment office. Since March 11, 2023, he has been defending our country. He was the best older brother and the best husband for his wife. We will always love him because he is the best," said Olga Antipova. The military was buried in his native village. At home, Pavlo was awaited by his pregnant wife, a son born in 2022, and other relatives and friends.
