- Grenade launcher operator Petro Antoniuk was killed on January 18, 2023 while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Klishchiyivka in the Donetsk region. The 27-year-old defender's life was cut short by enemy artillery fire. Petro was born in the village of Zhuzheljany in the Lviv region. In 2014, he obtained a degree in mining engineering and electromechanics at the Chervonohrad Mining and Economic College. He worked in a mine. In 2016, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The following year, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation, for which he was awarded the President of Ukraine's "For Participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation" decoration. Then he returned to civilian life. He worked as the head of the chilled products department at the "Agro-Invest" company. In his free time, he was engaged in self-development and was interested in IT technologies. In 2019, he got married. Later, the couple had a daughter. The family dreamed of a peaceful and happy future, but all their plans were shattered by the war. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Petro rejoined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 105th battalion of the 63rd separate mechanized brigade. "Petya was courageous, strong and kind. He was the best husband and father. He always knew how to support and cheer up. He was my support, my beloved. He went to war for a better future for our daughter," said the wife of the fallen soldier. The defender was buried in his native village. Petro is survived by his mother Nadia, two brothers Andriy and Yuriy, his wife Ivanna and his 3-year-old daughter Viktoria.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
