- Lieutenant Petro Sluka was killed in action on April 2, 2022, near the village of Stepne, in Luhansk region. He sustained fatal injuries during an enemy artillery barrage. The officer was forever 40 years old. Petro Sluka was born in Zhovkva, Lviv region. He graduated from the National University "Lviv Polytechnic," where he obtained the profession of an energy specialist. He served as the chief dispatcher at "Lvivoblenergo," and in 2014 he served in a border unit detachment. In recent years, he worked abroad as an electrician on liners. He was fond of football, chess, travel, and sports. With the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man engaged in volunteer activities. And on March 3, 2022, he already fought on the front lines as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Petro served in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Daniel. He commanded a motorized infantry platoon. "Petro was a true patriot of his country, respected traditions, was an example for children, and respected his parents," his wife Svetlana noted. Petro was buried in his hometown. He is survived by his parents, brother, wife, and three children. The officer was posthumously awarded the Order of Bogdan Khmelnitsky III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
