Petro I. Kubarych (Petrukha)

Paratrooper Petro Kubarich (call sign Petruha) was killed on July 30, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the city of Krasnohorivka in the Donetsk region. The warrior was 35 years old. Petro was born in the village of Vyshnevе in the Sumy region. He graduated from the Bilkivska Secondary School of I-III levels. Then he obtained the profession of a mason, furnace-maker, and tile-layer at the Trostyanets Vocational Lyceum. In civilian life, he worked as a construction worker. In his free time, he loved to fish, communicate with children or friends. When the full-scale war began, the man was working in Kyiv. In the first days of the invasion, he joined the local territorial defense. Later, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 79th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. He held the position of a squad commander in the engineer-sapper platoon. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended the Donetsk region. "I always took care of my younger brother, nannied him from diapers and was always there for him in adulthood, supporting him. He is a wonderful person and the best brother. He always tried to help everyone. A person with a kind and sincere heart, courageous, fair," said the deceased's sister Halyna Makovska. The defender was buried in his native village. Petro is survived by his mother, daughter, son, brothers, and sisters. Posthumously, Junior Sergeant Petro Kubarich was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
