Petro P. Heliuta (Petrukha)

Senior soldier Petro Heliuta (call sign Petruha) was killed on October 27, 2022, after carrying out a combat mission in the area of the village of Zaporizhske, Dnipropetrovsk region. He was 45 years old. Petro was born in Kyiv. He grew up in the village of Salivonky in the Kyiv region. He graduated from school there. In 1993, he mastered the profession of tractor driver-mechanic at the Hrebinkivske State Repair and Transport Enterprise. In civilian life, he worked as an excavator operator at various enterprises. In 2015, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation. In his free time, he loved fishing and gatherings with friends. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the occupiers on February 24, 2022, the man, having combat experience, went to the front again. At first, he defended the Kyiv region as part of military unit A4028, where he was a scout. Then he fought in the ranks of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of driver of the anti-tank platoon. He carried out combat missions in the Chernihiv and Kherson regions. "Petro is the best man and father in the entire Universe. He loved our native Motherland very much. Cheerful, cheerful, friendly, he was always able to come to the aid of his acquaintances and friends... We are proud of our Hero," his wife shared. The defender was buried at the Berkovetsky cemetery in Kyiv. His wife Olena, sons Pavlo and Danylo did not wait for their hero to return from the war.
