Petro P. Ivanchenko (Fiksyk)

29-year-old soldier Petro Ivanchenko (call sign Fixik) was killed on June 30, 2023 near the village of Tymofiyivka in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he sustained a fatal explosive injury. Petro was born in the village of Starovychi, Kyiv region. He graduated from the Nemishaiv Agrotechnical College. He worked in the organization "Ukrainian Society of Hunters and Fishermen". He was passionate about fishing. During the full-scale war, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend his native country. He served in the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after General Ensign Marko Bezruchko. He held the position of a machine gunner in the sniper platoon. "He was a very kind and sincere person. He could never refuse to help. It so happened that he had no one left from his closest relatives. When the full-scale invasion began, he was taken prisoner and spent more than a week there. After the liberation of the Kyiv region, he decided to go and defend Ukraine. He dreamed of children, but, unfortunately, his dream never came true," said the civilian wife of the deceased, Myroslava Zakovorita. The defender was buried in his native village. At home, Petro was awaited by his civilian wife, relatives, friends and godparents.
