Petro R. Chudiak (Trotskyi)

Soldier Petro Chudiak (call sign Trotsky) was killed on August 31, 2023, near the village of Kuzmyne in the Luhansk region. While performing his duties, he came under enemy fire and sustained fatal shrapnel wounds. The defender was 38 years old. Petro was from the village of Kozhychi in the Lviv region. He graduated from the Domazhyrskyi General Secondary School of I-III Degrees of the Ivano-Frankivsk village council. In civilian life, he worked in construction. He dedicated his free time to self-development and loved ones. In December 2022, the man received a summons and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He underwent training in Ukraine and Slovakia, where he mastered mortar operations. Later, as part of the 42nd Separate Mechanized Brigade, he went to defend the Lyman-Kupiansk direction of the Donetsk region. "My brother was a kind, honest, hardworking, and courageous man. He loved life and loved his family. He couldn't stand aside when the war started and bravely went to defend his homeland," said the deceased's sister Iryna Vozniak. Petro was buried in his native village of Kozhychi. At home, he was awaited by his mother, brothers, sisters, wife, and two children.
