Petro S. Yevsovych (Paliestina)

Military Petro Yevsovych (call sign Palestine) died on November 20, 2023, while repelling the assault of Russian occupiers near the village of Vilshany in the Kharkiv region. In October, the warrior turned 27 years old. Petro was a native of the village of Smorodsk in the Rivne region. In 2013, he obtained a complete secondary education at the Udritsk Secondary School of I-III degrees. He loved football, participated in championships and competitions, and had many diplomas and awards. Then he enrolled at the Berezne Forestry College of the National University of Water Management and Nature Management, where he obtained the qualification of a forestry technician. He was passionate about drawing. Before the invasion, he worked abroad at an automotive factory. On February 24, 2022, the man without hesitation joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Initially, he held the position of a grenade launcher assistant in the security company of the 1st department of the Sarny RTCKS and SP. In May, he transferred to the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade in the same position. He defended Ukraine on the territory of Donetsk, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia and Luhansk regions. From February 27, 2023, he held the position of a grenade launcher assistant in the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Roman the Great. "We were very close with my brother. He was an extraordinary son, brother, friend and patriot of our country. He always knew how to make us laugh, the soul of any company, kind, sincere, we never saw him without a smile or angry. There are few such bright and positive people, his eyes radiated love for life, you could always count on him. He had many friends and acquaintances, he had a girlfriend and planned for the future... It's a very difficult and painful loss for us, we miss our Petryk," shared the sister of the fallen Olena. Petro was buried in his native village. He is survived by his mother, sister and three brothers. The soldier was posthumously awarded the Princely Cross of the Hero "Forever in the ranks".
