Petro V. Nemesh (Petrovych)

34-year-old junior sergeant Petro Nemesh (call sign Petrovich) was killed on January 2, 2024 near the village of Novodarivka in the Zaporizhia region. The defender suffered a fatal explosive injury as a result of military actions. Petro was born in the city of Stryi, Lviv region. He lost both parents at an early age, so he grew up very independent and responsible. He was raised by his grandmother and grandfather. He studied at school No. 6 and vocational school No. 8 in his hometown. During his student years, he took an active part in the public life of Stryi. He worked at a sawmill in the village of Verkhnya Rozhanka, where he also lived. He loved dancing and music. In July 2023, the man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 127th separate brigade of territorial defense. He was the commander of a rifle squad in the 228th battalion. "Petro was a very kind and sensitive person, he always came to help in difficult times. He had many friends with whom he shared everything, he was very positive, a smile never left his face. Above all, he loved his children, for whom he wanted to do a lot in the future. In our hearts, he remained a brave, caring, kind, loving, the best dad, husband, brother..." - his wife Natalia said. Petro was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the cemetery in his hometown. At home, his wife, two daughters and sister were waiting for him.
