Petro Ya. Havryliv (Polo)

Lviv football player and defender of Ukraine Petro Havryliv (call sign Polo) was killed in action on July 2, 2022, in southern Ukraine during combat duty. He was to turn 22 years old in a week. Petro was born in Lviv. From his youth, he supported a healthy lifestyle: engaged in sports, was interested in geography and had in-depth knowledge of this discipline. He took part in sports training, educational lectures. In peacetime, Polo was engaged in football, was a pupil of FC Lviv, played for the teams Niva-Kordiya, Dynamo-Sokil and Kamula. Also, the warrior stu at the 5th course of the Institute of Geodesy of the Lviv Polytechnic. He was a participant in the Lviv branch of the movement Tradition and Order. From the first days of the full-scale war, the guy joined the volunteer activity, in particular, helped in collecting and supplying military aid to the defenders of Kyiv, and later to the fighters of the Eastern and Southern fronts. And later he joined the newly created volunteer battalion Revenge. "Petro was an exemplary citizen and a worthy representative of the Ukrainian nation. Always smiling and kind, Petro was ready to help anyone who needed it. Considering Petro's life principles, his decision to go to war was conscious and justified. At home, Petro left a large loving family, whom he sought to protect. He continues to protect them to this day, as now Petro is in the heavenly pantheon of defenders of our state," - said about his comrade in the battalion Revenge. The fighter was buried on Mars Field in his native Lviv. Petro left behind his parents, sister, and brother.
