Roman A. Kubai

Roman Anatoliyovych Kubai was born on January 29, 1991, in the village of Herbyn, Baltsky District, Odesa Oblast, in a large family. In 2010, he graduated from the Herbyn School of I-II degrees. He studied well at school, was active, polite, well-mannered, and athletic. He was a loving son and took care of his brothers and sisters. In 2013, he moved to the village of Birkivka, Mensk Raion, Chernihiv Oblast, with his family. In 2015, Roman began serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine under a contract and was a participant in the ATO/OOS. He served in various military units. Since 2018, he continued his contract service, so he learned about the full-scale invasion of Russia while already in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Together with his comrades-in-arms, Roman gave a worthy rebuff to the invader, defending his native land. He died on March 9, 2022, while performing a combat mission in the area of the city of Izium in Kharkiv Oblast. On March 14, 2022, he was temporarily buried in the urban-type settlement of Slobozhanske, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. For personal courage and selfless actions, demonstrated in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and loyalty to the military oath, Senior Sergeant Roman Anatoliyovych Kubai was posthumously awarded the Order "For Courage" III degree.
