- Senior soldier Roman Suvалко (call sign Elvis) was killed on August 30, 2023 in a battle with the enemy near the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he sustained fatal injuries. The defender was 23 years old. Roman was born and lived in the city of Dnipro. He studied at the local school No. 39. He was a religious person, so he spent his free time in the local church "Kovcheh". He dreamed of a strong family and a cozy home. During the Great War, he got married. On February 24, 2022, the man without hesitation stood up to defend his native country from the Russian invaders. Roman served in the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a senior gunner of the mortar platoon. During his service, he was awarded the honorary badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Golden Cross". "Cheerful, cheerful, kind, purposeful, brave. Despite his young age, on the first day of the war, he stood up to defend Ukraine, because he was a true patriot of his country," said Daria Tokar, a friend of the deceased's family. The young soldier was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the Krasnopilsky cemetery in his native Dnipro.
