Roman D. Koreniuk

Senior Soldier Roman Korenюk was killed in action on March 3, 2022, in the combat zone. In two months, the warrior would have turned 30. Roman was born in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from Kryvyi Rih National University. After his studies, he worked as a security guard and later became a miner at the Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Plant. According to colleagues, Roman proved himself to be a true professional, a conscientious worker, a good and compassionate person. He was respected by his colleagues and the management of the "Oktyabrska" mine, where he worked. In 2016-2017, he served his term of service. On April 29, 2020, he decided to volunteer to defend Ukraine and signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The hero was bid farewell to in Dnipropetrovsk, in his hometown of Kryvyi Rih. "We pay tribute to Roman Dmytrovych Korenюk, who was one of the first to meet the enemy. During the shelling, he was mortally wounded and ," said his commander at the funeral of the fallen warrior. "A terrible time has come to our land - we are being killed simply for existing, for being Ukrainians. But God has given us such people who give their lives for our state, so that we will not be enslaved and dependent on these so-called brothers again. These brave men are dying for our future, for our children, for our people. They will be saved and will enter the Kingdom of Heaven," the priest addressed those present at the funeral. Roman is survived by his wife.
