Roman H. Chekhun

Roman Heorhiyovych Chekhun was born on July 2, 1976. After graduating from school in 1993, he enrolled at the Kharkiv National University of the Air Force named after Ivan Kozhedub. He completed his studies in 1998 and then served in the 7th Tactical Aviation Brigade named after Petro Franko, holding the position of senior flight commander of an aviation squadron. In 2014, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) and the Joint Forces Operation (JFO). With the onset of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, he defended the skies over Kherson Oblast. He was killed on March 12, 2022, in an air battle over Kherson Oblast.
