Roman H. Havryloie (Solomon)

Sailor Roman Gavriloe (call sign Solomon) was killed on October 6, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Bilohorka in the Kherson region. The warrior was 43 years old. Roman was born in the Chernivtsi region. He graduated from the local school. When he was 24 years old, he moved to Odesa. He worked in the construction industry. In 2003, he met his future wife Inna. They immediately started living together and eventually got married. In 2012, the couple had a son named Yevhen. Roman spent all his free time with his family. Together with his son, they loved to walk in the park, relax by the sea, and play board and computer games. The man enjoyed fishing, and he taught this to his son as well. In March 2022, Roman joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of gunner in the 35th separate marine brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrohradskyy. "On October 5, I was waiting for my husband to come home for his first short leave, and I had prepared some treats. But he called and said that he was going to the front line for a few days, and then he would definitely come to us. I tried to persuade him to change his decision, but he didn't listen. Instead of Roman, his comrade went home. And he was killed the next day from enemy shrapnel. Roman was brave and did not hide behind the backs of his comrades. He was the best husband and father! We miss him very much with our son!" said the wife of the fallen warrior, Inna. The defender was buried in the Odesa region. At home, Roman was awaited by his wife Inna and son Zhenya, who was 10 years old at the time of his father's death.
