- Roman Omelchuk, a paratrooper, was killed on June 10, 2022, near the village of Dovhenke, Izyum district, Kharkiv region. While performing a combat mission, he came under enemy artillery fire and received fatal injuries. The warrior was 38 years old. Roman was born in the village of Novi Bilokorovychi, Zhytomyr region, in the family of a military serviceman. He lived with his family in the village of Kryukivshchyna in Kyiv region. After school, he received the profession of an electrician at a vocational school, but he did not work in his specialty. He devoted his entire life to security activities. Since 2016, he has worked for the security company LLC "Komkon" in the city of Brovary. He was fond of weapons. With the beginning of the full-scale war, the man joined the territorial defense in Brovary and stood up to defend his family and country. After the liberation of Kyiv region, he immediately voluntarily appeared at the TCC with a request to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Later, he became a serviceman of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade. He held the position of mechanic-driver of the engineering equipment section of the engineering and technical platoon of the engineering support group. "Roman was always a cheerful, reliable, fair, balanced, and calm person, a loving father, son, brother, beloved husband, reliable friend, and faithful comrade. His sense of humor will be remembered by all who knew him. He loved life, had many dreams and plans," said his wife Larisa. The warrior was buried in the village of Krasnostav, Zhytomyr region. The defender left behind his mother, sister, wife, son, and daughter. Roman was posthumously awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of Luhynska Community of Zhytomyr Region".
