Roman H. Symanov (Sienia)

Senior Sergeant Roman Simanov (call sign Senya) was killed on May 27, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the village of Novoluhanske in Donetsk region. In June, the defender would have turned 34 years old. Roman was born in the village of Saltikova Divytsia, Chernihiv region. He lived in Chernihiv. After finishing school, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 2010, he signed a contract with military unit A4507, where he held the position of mechanic of the material and technical support platoon. Later, he became the head of the electrical engineering department of the field communication node. At the same time, he stuwas killed at the Chernihiv National Pedagogical University named after Taras Shevchenko. In 2015, the man joined the 30th separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Kostyantin Ostrozky. He held the position of senior sergeant of the platoon. He participated in the ATO / JFO. In 2018, he was awarded the breastplate "Sign of Honor". With the start of the full-scale invasion, Roman, along with his comrades, continued to defend Ukraine against Russian occupiers. "My husband was the best son, brother, father, husband, friend. He will forever be in our hearts. We know for sure that Romka did not leave us, he is always with us," said the wife of the deceased. The hero was buried at the Yalivshchyna cemetery in Chernihiv. At home, Roman was waiting for his father Hryhoriy Mykhailovych, mother Natalia Vasylivna, wife Olga, daughter Karolina, other relatives and friends. Posthumously, the warrior was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the III degree.
