- Senior soldier Roman Hrapenyuk (call sign Hoverla) was killed on August 30, 2022, in the village of Myrolyubivka, Kherson region. During an offensive battle, the warrior received injuries incompatible with life. He was forever 36 years old. Roman Hrapenyuk was born in the village of Luh, Zakarpattia region. He was the only son of his mother. Still a young man, he sought to build and develop Ukraine. He was elected a deputy of the village council. During the events of the Revolution of Dignity, the man joined the protests in Kyiv, and in his native village, he initiated the installation of a memorial to the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. He took part in the war in eastern Ukraine. Before the full-scale invasion, he lived with his family in Slovakia, but on February 26, 2022, he decided to return. Voluntarily, he went to defend his homeland. He held the position of sniper in the 128th separate mountain assault brigade. He was awarded the President of Ukraine's award "For participation in the anti-terrorist operation", the honorary certificate "For courage and bravery", the breastplates "Veteran of the war" and "Participant of the ATO". "Everyone remembers Roman as a decisive, brave, devoted and fearless man, he took responsibility for his life and the lives of his comrades. His family and friends are proud of him. We remember his last act on the battlefield for the sake of us, for the sake of the independence of our free Ukraine," wrote Mariana Havuk. The warrior was buried in the village of Bohdan, Zakarpattia. Roman left behind his mother and wife.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
