- Chief Sergeant Roman Hutsul (call sign Yaga) was killed on March 13, 2022, while performing a combat mission in the area of the city of Rubizhne in Luhansk region. On February 25, the defender turned 27 years old. Roman was born in the village of Bilopillia, Kirovohrad region. He completed 11 grades at the Petrokorbivska school. Then he stu at the Kirovohrad Professional Technical College as a gas welder. After graduation, he completed his mandatory military service and decided to stay in the army, signing a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since 2018, he has lived in Luhansk region, in the city of Rubizhne. In his free time, he loved fishing and playing football. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man served in the 111th Separate Brigade of Territorial Defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was the commander of a platoon. "My son was everything to us. Our support. Our beauty. Our Hero," said Svitlana Hutsul. Roman was buried with military honors in his native village of Bilopillia. He is survived by his parents, brother, sister, wife, and daughter. For his entire service period, Roman received the awards "Veteran of War - Participant in Combat Operations" and "Participant in Combat Operations."
