- Junior Lieutenant Roman Kostromytskyi (call sign Rama) was killed on May 8, 2022, while defending the city of Mariupol in Donetsk region. The occupants then dropped a super-heavy air bomb on the bunker of the Azovstal plant. Roman was 32 years old. He studied at the Faculty of Computer Technologies of Berdyansk State Pedagogical University, but did not work in his specialty. Before the start of the full-scale invasion, he underwent military diver training courses in Odesa. He loved sports, particularly crossfit, running, and swimming. He was a regular participant in the obstacle race "Race Nation" and various military-sports gatherings. Many of his diplomas and other awards remained in the occupied territory. He defended Ukraine in the ranks of the special purpose unit "Azov". He held the position of sniper. He was awarded the distinctions "For Participation in the ATO", "For Military Service", and "For Courage" of the III degree (posthumously). "My brother was always in search of himself, but from an early age he dreamed of a military career, so he first connected his life with the army, and then joined Azov. He was a strong-willed and physically strong person. His comrades-in-arms speak very well of him," his sister Aliona said. The body of the soldier has not yet been buried. At home, his parents and younger sister were waiting for Roman.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
