Biography
Roman Ivanovych was born in the village of Volytsia in the Sokal district of Lviv region into a large intelligent family and was raised as a true patriot. After finishing school, he served in the military and worked at a gas compressor station. From the first days of the Revolution of Dignity, he went to the capital, where he served as a sergeant in the 10th Sokal self-defense unit of Euromaidan. On February 18, 2014, during barricade clashes, he was injured in his left eye (fortunately, the doctors managed to save his sight). With the onset of hostilities in Eastern Ukraine, he signed a contract to serve in the military reserve of the National Guard of Ukraine… After the memorial service at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, the community of Sokal conducted a multi-kilometer march to escort the soldier on his final journey to the local cemetery, where he was buried with military honors.Military service
